Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

LearnixSai ("we", "us", "our") operates the platform at learnixsai.tech. We are committed to protecting your personal data and your right to privacy.

2. What data we collect

Account data

When you sign up, we collect:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Password (stored hashed, never in plaintext)

Usage data

As you use the platform, we store:

  • Courses you create and their content (topics, modules, resources)
  • Learning progress (completed resources, XP, streaks, quiz scores)
  • Notes you write on resources
  • Character customization preferences
  • Achievement and level data

Data we do NOT collect

  • Payment information (the platform is free)
  • Location data
  • Device fingerprints
  • Third-party tracking cookies

3. How we use your data

Your data is used exclusively to:

  • Provide and maintain the learning platform
  • Track your progress and award XP/achievements
  • Generate personalized course content via AI
  • Display your profile in the marketplace (only if you publish courses)

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Third-party services

We use the following external services to operate the platform:

  • OpenRouter — AI model API for course and quiz generation. Your topic queries are sent to AI models. No personal data is sent.
  • YouTube — Videos are embedded from YouTube. YouTube's own privacy policy applies when you watch embedded content.
  • Wikipedia — Course overviews are fetched from the Wikipedia REST API.

5. Data storage and security

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with a cost factor of 12. Sessions use encrypted JWT tokens. We implement rate limiting on sensitive endpoints.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:

  • Access — Request a copy of all data we hold about you
  • Rectification — Update your name, email, or other information via Settings
  • Erasure — Delete your account and all associated data via Settings → Danger Zone. This is permanent and irreversible.
  • Portability — Request your data in a structured format
  • Object — Object to processing of your data

To exercise any of these rights, email us or use the account deletion feature in Settings.

7. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data (courses, progress, notes, achievements) is permanently deleted immediately via cascading database deletion.

8. Children's privacy

LearnixSai is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
